If you are interested in being considered as a partner family for a new Habitat home you must meet the criteria below and contact us for an application.
a. Current housing has structural, mechanical or accessibility problems
b. Current housing has inadequate number of bedrooms
c. Current housing is in an unsafe neighborhood
d. Current housing is temporary
e. The family is unable to obtain a mortgage or government-assisted loan
Ability to pay for a Habitat Home:
a. Family income should fall between 30-50% of the average median income in Windham County.
b. Family should have a satisfactory credit history and references.
c. Family should be able to pay a down payment of 1% of estimated mortgage amount.
Willingness to partner:
a. Family should be willing to complete 300 hours of sweat equity.
b. Family should be willing to participate in nurture/educational programs.
a. Family must have lived in HFHWA region for at least one year.
b. Applicant/s must be US citizen/s or non-citizen/s with eligible immigration status.
